Irish Free Comics Day PDF Print E-mail
Latest News
Sunday, 17 August 2008 22:08

The first ever Irish Free Comics Day will be taking place on Saturday October 18th, organised by Rob Curley and involving most of Ireland's Comic Book stores throughout the Republic and Northern Ireland.. The aim of the event is to push the Irish small press scene and so to be included at least 51% of the comic should be Irish! There are quite a few comic shops taking part, and you must be able to provide at least 40 comics for every shop you want your comic to be given away in.

Don't fret if your comic isn't 51% Irish, you can still take part in the Irish 24 hour comics day, held on the same weekend from 12pm October 18th to 12pm October 19th. A chance to lock yourself in a room with strangers for 24 hours and draw comics! Its free to take part and all skill levels are welcome.

There is also a Small Press table running from 11am Saturday morning until 8pm Saturday evening. This is open to all those Small Pressers who aren't able to take part in the Irish Free Comics Day to sell their comics at the event (this means you!).
